What happens when we’re stripped of our labels?

Guest post by Kyeli Smith for Oh, these Wild Women: Stories from the tribe

I’ve been through a lot in the past three years. A lot. A lot that has tried and tested me. Tested my faith. Shook me to the core. Changed me. Made me question my identity.

And through it all, I’ve found that I’m still me.

Brighter, even. More me than I was before.

What happens when we’re stripped of the labels we cling to and hide behind?

    Powerful. Freedom.

Working on this divine power and freedom my self.

I am certainly not doing it alone either. Surrounding by others who are uncovering this too.

    Mmmmmmmmm…. gorgeous Kyeli, just gorgeous.

I often imagine this peeling process like an artichoke, you can’t eat the heart until all the inedible upper parts of the leaves are removed (with great care!)

Remaining stripped down is such a process too, lifelong but worthwhile work. :)

Thank you for you <3 xox
