I’ve been thinking a lot lately about devastation. Earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, nuclear disasters, war. There is so much happening in the world right now. It’s overwhelming.
And I start to wonder about the validity of carrying on doing what I do in the face of so much devastation in other parts of the world. I mean here I am helping people grow their dreams and create amazing bright creative happy lives for themselves while elsewhere in the world people are losing everything.
It doesn’t feel fair, or right.
And yet I know that the work that I am doing is the work that is in me to do. I’m sharing the gifts that are in me to share. I’m shining my light and supporting others in shining theirs.
And that may seem small, in the face of what is going on elsewhere in the world. It may seem silly or superficial. It may seem pointless.
But it’s really not. The work I am doing is a part of something much greater.
It’s a part of a revolution.
Waking people up and opening people up to what is actually possible for our whole planet.
Helping people find their light and learn how to shine it, through bringing their dreams to life.
This isn’t silly or superficial. Any dream that comes from the light is a dream that benefits and lights up everyone it touches.
This becomes a revolution when more and more people light up.
And when enough people are lit up – it will change the world.
We will re-focus our energy and attention on what really matters. Because we, as humans, are putting our money, attention, energy and time into things that do not serve us. On the grand scale it means we’re not keeping ourselves and each other safe and healthy. On a personal scale it means we’re not doing what we are here to do.
Going within, finding your light and your dreams and bring them to life is huge. This is how we change the world.
Real lasting change and transformation can only come from within. People who are living in the light can see and create solutions that are simply not visible now.
I know we can’t solve earthquakes.
But you know those billions of dollars that are spent on war? What if they were spent on predicting natural disasters and moving people to safety well before they were in danger?
We spend all this money on policing ourselves and each other and no money on building up self esteem which would eradicate most crime. Most “healthcare dollars” are not actually used to keep people healthy.
We’re just not really focused on the things that matter, in the ways that matter. We give lip service to all sorts of great things but the mast majority of the money, attention and energy on this planet is flowing towards things that do not keep this planet or its inhabitants safe, healthy and happy.
And fighting against all of that is adding more fuel to the fire. More fight. More anger. More energy. But being complacent adds fuel to the fire too.
What stops the cycle is when individuals start to find their inner light and allow that to guide them. Then we start to create new paths. New possibilities. Whole new worlds.
Though right here, right now I am still feeling helpless.
I can send money. And positive thoughts and love. But that feels so small. And it is small.
Change doesn’t come overnight. It is coming though. I do see light breaking through here and there around the world. And I put my trust in that. I put my trust in knowing that it is growing. That we are growing. That humanity is becoming wiser. And gentler. That we are going to turn this around before it’s too late.
And this was my last Roots of She post.
I had intended to write something light and creative and sparkly to leave you with but this is what came out. This is where we are right now.
I have loved being a part of Roots of She. This was such a magical experience. Coming together like this is a huge part of how we can change the world. And want to invite you to continue the journey into the light with me on my blogat ABCcreativity.
